Auckland is wintry again as usual The satellite map only shows cloud over us also its been drizzelly and had a record breaking 2 hours of sunshine today(uninterrupted may I say!) :oops:
Perhaps metservice should say we will have "fine" weather by Christmas time ;)

On a brighter side at least the SWer isnt here today :)

Sometimes the colder weather is good...as long as there is high pressure like now.

My turbo goes better with the heavier air :D

T=temp (ºC)
P=pressure (mb)

kg/m3 = (P / 100) / ((T+273)*287)

yeah, a 1034 hpa barometer and we ended up with a classic easterly surge of drizzle and cold temperatures (13oC in the afternoon)
(Easterly surge:its all those SW showers you hate michael that came back in the easterly as the high builds to the south of us)
tomorrow will be a sunny much warmer day, guranteed! (thats what happens after a easterly surge)

a damp 13oc with low cloud ,quite dark with it too, in the middle of the afternoon, well, for the auckland area, that was like a winters day (i.e even in mid winter we get to at least 13 to 15o C every day here!)
i.e a damp (no sun) 13oc is worse than a dry (with sun ) 8oC

April is normaly a good month in Auckland, our average daily temperature range for this month is 15C to 21C. But I'm not sure the mercury has made it to 20C this month, and the mornings are like July, Cold.

Good fodder for Michael though :D

The temperature has been a bit cold - more so than statistics say they should be. I've done some analysis on the past 90 days of temperatures that I have recorded here and 21 of the 90 samples exceed the SD by 1.3 (i.e. they would be excluded from real world statistical analysis, and I wouldn't use them to forecast anything!)
