Yes, that clip was not just interesting from a weather point of view, it is highly entertaining watching the people scramble :D . I guess a devil that big could pick up a person.

Dust devils like that are very common in Arizona(hot dry states of USA).

The clip came out of USA. I'm not sure which Asian country, maybe China.

A great video clip.
I travelled through SouthWest USA and saw plenty of Dust Devils every day, some spectacular. SouthWest USA is desert with temperatures above 40c daily for a good part of the year.

It's Japan. My wife is Japanese, and watched it with me (and was hugely entertained I might add). It occurred in Nagano prefecture. If that helps... :-)

That was pretty cool! I've only just seen it now being here at work with the cable modem.

I guess that thing could pick people up.

Also, cool report Steven on the events of late on your website. The photos are great especially that last one! :)

I saw it today in my IT class, everyone watched. They thought it was hillarious lol.

Did I tell anyone in the New Zealand v Pakistan test match in Hamilton a small whirl wind happened around 2pm. It started by the food stalls (on dust and dirt) and took lots of hats with it. The whirlwind slowly moved eastwards, 1m a second onto the field of play. As it moived onto the grass it was invisible but some rubbish was in it. A remaining hat (one of the ones old ladies wear) started going in circles on the rim, along the ground about 10 times. It was hillarious.[/i]

Just imagine if it (the whirlwind) had crossed the pitch while the teams were playing.
