hi Guys,
Steady rain here since 10pm Saturday evening. 32.1mm recorded to 9am this morning and a further 22.3mm to 1630. Checked on the manual guages, and these confirm these amounts as recorded by the station auto guage(s). Will be interesting to check the Hutt River flow graph, I reckon it would be reasonably high... Also, pretty cold here with a curent temp of 8C.
Heavy Rain for SI East Coast 28-29th June

Re: Heavy Rain for SI East Coast 28-29th June
A dusting only on a high hill on Banks Peninsula (about 700m+) late morning visible though break in cloud. Lots of surface water on paddocks between Chch and Little River this morning, but wind has died down considerably. Frequent showers continuing though.Still some heavy showers moving through with even sleet in them so the snow level must be down to about 200m this morning, if it is i dont think any would settle as the duration of the showers are very short lived.

60mm at Jeff's.
Looks to be a huge frost tomorrow night, Metservice predicting -4 (and frosts always seem to be colder than they say...)

Re: Heavy Rain for SI East Coast 28-29th June
Just got back from a tramping trip up the boyle valley in lewis pass and we had no rain and only 3cm of snow around the hut (728m) on top of around 10cm on the ground when we arived from storms earlyer in the week.
No snow in hanmer and snow level had gone up since we drove in on sat so this weather system just went along the edge of the foot hills.
