Looks like a nice bit of charge has gone through that modem alright!
Still looking unstable from tomorrow evening especially as the coldest part of the long wave trough swings over.
Yes, looks like a cold pool will pass through overnight tonight/morning with hail and the chance of the odd thunder clap. Looks good on the sat pic currently.

so that pool of cold CB showers in the western tasman should peel across to here by 2 nite?
update: its hailing a bit here now...with heavy rain..

Interestingly the forecast for auckland is now "heavy rain, few showers later", yet there is not much heavy rain according to the radar... :?

Looks like a goner to me.
Modems don't work too well after their smoke has escaped. :-w

It would have been quite a sight if someone had been nearby at the time. :crazy:

Had a downpour with small hail about 1.30pm at Milford/North Shore today.
