Is it really just plain Bollocks!!!

Unread post by Storm Struck »

After the interesting but funny mis spelling of a sign in Wellington which was meant to be Bullock st and not Bollock st which the council happend to mis spell so easily.
This got me thinking has anyone seen road signs, shop signs etc etc that were either spelt wrongly or were broken, turned the wrong way or even upside down?.
Ive seen on a number of occasions road workers which have put survey signs upside down.
What about the narrow windy road into Kaiteriteri the speed sign says 100  got to be kidding me.
At night driving past Shell in Belfast to notice the S in shell has gone out and reads HELL .
I am sure everyone has heard of the sign, '' note when this sign is underwater the road is impassable'' .
Cheers
Jason.

Maybe a good rider on a decent bike?

A gorge near me has been reduced to 80 km/hr, it's a real cause of frustration to me, as it's seem's to have slowed down the inexperienced drivers on that road by an average of about 30 km/hr on what people used to go through it at.

Of course knowing the road well, my lowered car could take a lot of corners at the speed limit previously (assuming no traffic in front of me).

I still remember being passed by a low flying bike in there, thinking a choice word from a Toyota advert at the time.

If you buy a Bic lighter from Shell Stoke (near Nelson) and remove some strategic letters, you end up with 'hell toke'

There was an office block being done up around the corner from my work, where the contractors were said to be 'Rerurbishing' the premises

Or the blond at Hell Pizza the other day writing up the chalk board, saying 'Buy 2 side dishes and the 3th is free'... Ummm... o_O

There was a pasage of road into Hamilton that was changed from 100-80. But they put it so on the left it said 80 and the right it said 100. Then heading out of town it said 80 on the left and 100 on the right.

A small road for cars to come into my school had a sign with a car outline on it, except it was an upside down car

I could name heaps of silly signs, or 'It is Really just plain bollocks' but I'll have to come back on this.
In the meanwhilst:
Why does an international road sign show a steam loco indicating a railway line? when a steam locomtive hauled train would possibly only cross the crossing about 2 times a year?

Why does TVNZ show Kaitaia and Whangarei as the national high in red when Kawerau and Culverden have reached the maximum and it is not shown?

As you go down Shands Road towards Hornby from the Halwell junction Road roundabout, it says 'Slow down 50kph'
How can you slow down, when you have just taken off from the roundabout???

These are just some of the silly things you come across. More tomorrow
