Oh dear...

I have a friend, I'll leave his first name out... But he and his brother and sister were adopted by their step father. This gave their step father the ability to care for them if something happened to their mother. Their father had moved off shore and remarried and no longer maintained contact with them.

My friend and his siblings (Wayne and Joanne) maintained their original sir names, despite being adopted and having new sir names.

My friend and his siblings new legal sir name was King.

Over a beer or three... my boss heard the story and couldn't get over it... but it kept going back to the fact he thought we were Jo King!

Groan, you had to be there, it was awkward but funny at the same time.

All of these are legitimate companies that didn't spend quite enough time considering how their online names might appear ... and be misread.

These are not made up. Check them out yourself! Read the web-site's names closely!

1. "Who Represents" is where you can find the name of the agent that represents any celebrity. Their Web site is http://www.whorepresents.com

2 . Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at http://www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at http://www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at http://www.therapistfinder.com

5. There's the Italian Power Generator company, http://www.powergenitalia.com

6. And don't forget the Mole Station Native Nursery in New South Wales, http://www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you're looking for IP computer software, there's always http://www.ipanywhere.com

8. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site is http://www.cummingfirst.com

9. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site http://www.speedofart.com

There has been people who have called thier twins by certain names to match.
Ie, Fish n Chips, Lawnmower & Weedeater.
These people were taken to court and forced to change the childs names in fear of future depressional impact on the child itself.
American's have named thier kids after car parts such as Carborator,Piston,Gaskett, and Steering wheel  .
There's also alot of people called Gae so you can imagine the introduction.
Cheers
Jason.

when my mother arrived in NZ from Nothern Ireland, she would introduce herself as, " Hi, I'm Betty"
but the accent made it sound like "Hi, I'm Batty", LOL

At primary school we had Harley and Davidson as brothers... another was a group of girls that were all named after expensive rocks, i think there were 4 or 5 of them. Pearl, gem, ruby crystal and i think there might have been another.

Knew 2 sisters named Jewels and Pearl. Jewels married a friend of mine and they named their son Norton - after his favourite motorbike!

How about this from the current issue of 'The Waiheke Week' ...
'Blood for Bluegreens' - by Tony Potter
Dr Blood has been appointed co-ordinator of the Waiheke branch of the Bluegreens - the National Party's advisory group on environmental issues... Dr Deb Blood, who has a PhD in communications, has been a clinical administrator at Yale Medical School...
