Got to about 31°C today, cooled down to about 25°C now. It's going to be a great night.

I hope everyone has a great New Years! Stay safe everyone.

I'm still at Coogee in Sydney, heading off towards Circular Quay shortly.

They are going to have simulated thunderstorms as part of the midnight fireworks display here. A mere 5 tonnes of fireworks!

Well if you want to see an amazing fireworks display i say go and watch the sydney new year ones. As tgsnoopy stated 5 tonnes and 5 millions dollars blown up over 10 minutes. What a display that was!
As for the thunderstorm fireworks, i never even thought of them as that. I suppose when i think about it now they were very much like lightening and very well done. At the time i just thought, so this is what being in a war zone would be like.

Happy New Year everyone.

Unfortunately I preferred the Brisbane River Festival's River Fire event as far as fireworks displays went. River fire went for half an hour not the 10 minutes of the NY's fireworks at Sydney.

Our biggest problem was my partner wanted to see the earlier kids display in Darling Harbour before heading to Circular Quay. By the time we got there, the venues were full to capacity and closed by the Police.

I was still lucky enough to acquire access to a venue with a suitable view for the event though (but not saying how or where).

The best thing of the whole night for me was the fantastic public transport put on for the night! Well done Sydney.

Next year? Maybe Brisbane.

The holidays aren't over and there are still plenty of challenging drivers out there, please keep yourselves save, have a great time and watch those other idiots on the roads :)
