I have posted a few pics here, http://gallery.radioyachting.com/canonSX10/
The moon shot was taken with max digital on a cheap tripod that wanted to move everytime I pushed the shutter button.
The bird shots were taken on max optical hand held

Very interesting indeed ... especially the one of the Oystercatchers.
And it's funny, on (probably) the same day or the day before you I've taken a HDR shot of the moon at max digital zoom with my SX100 ! You can see the difference quite easily !!
About the moving tripod, use the delay to avoid such problem (2 sec is enough usually).

I have posted a few more pics to that link, had to go to Russell and Kaitaia today so stopped at a couple of beaches.
Thanks for the tip about the delay (but I think I will still get a better tripod).
If you are ready to buy now, I know Noel Leemings have a special day coming up with some good pricing PM me with a mobile number and I will make sure you get the message that allows you to get the special deal. The day could be this Thursday but I'm not sure.
There is also the SX1 which you may think about too - basically an HD version of the SX10.

 p.s. the bit about the PM to get the message about the special day applies to everyone on this forum. :-$

Thanks a lot for the new pictures ! It shows everything I wanted to see. =D>

Tomorrow I've planned to go to a photo-shop in Merivale (where I bought my SX100 from) to try the SX1 as they still have some in stock.

I tried the SX1 this morning and gosh it's a beauty ! Hard to not give my credit card and go away with one !

Iomkiwi, can you tell me if the SX10 comes with a sun-shelter (I'm not sure of the name, sorry) and an IR remote control ? And is the back screen a 16:9 format or not ? :?:

Yes it does come with a lens hood, no remote, LCD screen is 4:3.

The SX1 does have the widescreen LCD - in the same size body.
