Don't burn it all at once, you know how high Omarama's pollution levels are ;)

I think the area I live is now frost free. Maybe its the urban heat island.

Anyway, this cold clear weather is about to end with a change to unsettled easterlies for the north of the country, heavy falls possible in the coming days for the Coromandal and parts Northland. But a lift in temps on the way.

At 06:19 it was -6.2° in Omarama. Another cloudless day. No winter for us this year it seems.
-6.2C seems pretty wintry to me - I guess you're thinking of snow when you define winter. (I recall you got a good dumping back in mid-June)

Yep. Even though it's chilly, it just doesn't feel like winter! It's so sunny and fine! :-)

Not much snow at ground-level since June. In fact, almost none.

That's what got me about Auckland: whether it was fine and sunny, or wet and windy, it was always, always humid!

If the sun is shining, you sweat. If it's windy and wet, you sweat under your raincoat. Blah.

I was mowing the lawn of my house here in Omarama in January (you only have to do it once a year!), and it was 36 degrees or so, yet I never felt anywhere near as uncomfortable as I did when I was still in Auckland. In fact it was quite pleasant, and the Speights went down a treat afterwards. :-)

No frost here this morning. Only down to 6.5C but at the hospital where I work there was a frost "in sheltered areas"

There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
