Yes, the second day in which isolated heat showers have developed late in the day, fall out from dying cu. Interesting to see it in August. The air will be more moist tomorrow afternoon so maybe more convection although looks like high cloud rolls in to block our sunshine as a weakening front approaches from our west.

Re: General August Weather
I didn't enjoy the winter in Christchurch at all.
No snow, storms or anything exciting really.
I hope spring has more action.

and looks like another week of nothing weather coming unless you live in Hokitika!
Should be quite mild everywhere though. Good to see the back of winter cold.

Relatively warm 13°C and 1.6mm here overnight. I see Northland's Kaeo also got over 25mm as did the Coromandel Ranges with over 30mm. Were a few offshore CG's out west this morn as well.

Re: General August Weather
Beautiful day here in Christchurch i notice the metservice says drizzle slowly clearning? Did we even have cloud to have drizzle? Beats me. Its already 14 degrees with a very light ENE breeze. It really does not seem like any more cold weather is with us this winter. Im praying for snow on the 3rd September for my 21st birthday or 5th September for my 21st Party!!That would be the best gift of all! However, loving the warm start to today!

Re: General August Weather
Did Christchurch not get any rain last night?, it was patchy rain here around 11pm and up to 3mm in the gauge.
It is another nice day, it actually feels warmer than it is though.

Anyone else having problems with MetService's site today, or is it just me?

Re: General August Weather
Looks like interesting weather on the way for central and southern areas for the rest of the week.
Northwest gales from tomorrow evening into Wednesday here in Wellington.
Might have to finish the bike ride early.

Re: General August Weather
Already 16 degrees here and the warmest in the country according to metservice. The funny thing is we have a 30km/h ENE!! Im surprised we are on 16 with that. The winds should change more northerly late this afternoon/evening and tomorrow could peak to near 20 and Thursday for that matter.
