Another Horrible week coming up for Auckland

Unread post by Michael »

Looks like another horrible week coming up for Auckland with all those wet days as mentioned by the TV One weather person.
I thought with this current disturbed SW flow/low pressure/upper level lows etc., there could be lots of thunderous days, snow to low levels and cold southerly winds.
...and the TV 3 weather person said ...and I quote " Unfortunately, this disturbed Sw flow is set to continue"
I thought, he should say "Thank goodness, this disturbed SW flow is set to continue"
Maybe he is a friend of John's ????

Remember the tv crews are based in Auckland, the SW here are hideous if you have spent a month of disturbed W-SW flows in Auckland :(

Yes StevenW! Hopefully you guys get some good weather (bad weather Micheal  ?) but in a sense it would be better if it arrived around lunch for you, I don't think it'll arrive any later than that. This is so it can get some heating from the ground, so the storms will be more severe!

I dunno about auck, but although we had a reasonable lineup on the radar and some impressive Cu. Cast. around - the Far North was a bust today.

Some nice smooth anvils to the S, but we only got a couple of scruffy Cb's blow throguh at about 1114Hrs - was all over by 1300.

Nice convection this morning though.

roll on the next batch....

Lightning detector is showing quite a lot of activity here (near central auckland)... to register at this distance there must be qute strong electrical action out there! 8) some good sun to warm things up here in preparation as well...
