Re: General January Weather
Seems like a convergence of clouds over me currently, NE breeze just turned NW and some persistent clouds blocking the sun, yet it seems clear to east and west.

Well, it's been humid-ish day today - started getting that muggy feel around 13:00hrs and it's still warm - mind that wind is cool...
We DESPERATELY need rain up here... will take a look around tomorrow and take some dry pic's... so needing rain..

Clear skies 25C today for Auckland but looks like the high cloud thickens up tomorrow afternoon with a few spots of rain not out of the question later in the day.

It's still warm... my son woke up about half and hour ago... irritable saying it was to hot... so have removed the blanket and he has a light sheet to cover him now... he seems comfortable and is fast asleep *smiles*.

Re: General January Weather
easterly wind here this morning, instead of the forecasted southerly
hopefully that lasts untill high tide...will make for good surfing....offshore winds have been very few and far between for 3 months now!

Re: General January Weather
I see GFS have the wet NNEr arriving now too from Wed onwards
but now the ECMWF overnight run (which is often not as good) has the tasman low moving SE quickly and become to SWer after a day or so

The 18Z gfs has some instability over the top of Auckland Monday afternoon. And yes the set up later next week looks something to watch out for.

Cracker of a day around the Pukke area, 25ish with next to no wind to speak of although a slight easterly did pop up this morning to help out with the washing
Pity im stuck here *yawn* & not at the Big Day Out!
Ambo's could be a little busy with heatstroke up there if it gets any warmer.

For want of a more technical term, today's weather has been a bit "meh"... had a peek at the sun earlier but clouded over now and I reckon another fire on the cards tonight...

Re: General January Weather
nice having the East cape rain radar
shows there is rain in those far clouds, LOL
I can see the cloud increasing to my SE
and that front is moving in fast into Hawkes bay
sea breeze and fine skies here on the coast still
