i see the low in the south tasman is weakening, but there is a new gathering of activity in the north west tasman now, and a low looks set to develop there, but the next high looks likely to push in to replace the old one now moving off to the east....and so more dry weather for most this week...thats how it looks at the moment...but time will telll
thoughts anyone (from a sometimes rude and abnoxious and offensive dairy farmer?)

Just got back from a long WE in North Canterbury, temps in Hamner Springs reaching 30C plus, over the last couple of days, but today would of been only in the high twenties because of a NW breeze.
Too hot for the hot pools but lovely anyway.
Country-side very dry.
No coastal fog, ran out of this at Waipara

Might be a bit of rain around from Friday and into the WE, which is a bit unfortunate as I was hoping the rain would stay off until next Tuesday, thus making March a very dry month.
It has happen before when a dry month has ended with a day or two of heavy rain bringing the monthly total up to or near average.

Some unforecast drizzle in Christchurch late yesterday afternoon and again early this morning. Mostly very slight stuff, but the roads were wet around Woolston (SE Chch for those of you unfamilar with the city) as I was cycling to work, so there must've been something more significant there. (at first I thought that there had been some road cleaning going on, but then I noticed driveways wet as well!)
It seems like the rain for Canterbury should now come Friday and early Saturday according to MetService. Most probably not enough for the dry land, but a lot better than none at all. BTW I noticed some towering cumulus/cumulonimbus inland this afternoon.
