Lovely day here. Fresh breeze with a cool crisp start this morning but warmed up nice today. Very pleasent 18 degrees out there with not a brathe of wind and very little cloud, if any. Still waiting to crack the 100mm mark for this year. 98.2mm. 1mm for the month, 0mm in my neck of the woods.

Normally dont mind the easterly and strong too and after an 11 month lack of them typically arriving in May but better after the neighbors leaves have fallen as theyre blowing directly across, the chainsaw is tempting...anyway nice almost summerlike day here.

There must of been a small low off BP today, as the wind flow turned southerly with a bit of a drop in temperature, this afternoon.
I noticed some low stratus moving north from the south to the east of here late afternoon.

The start of those rainbands are starting to pull through here now - light to moderate rain with some gusty winds.

...and also it is Autumn now, so leaves will be a plenty, so leave Michael alone with his leaves, pine needles or what ever other rubbish may come along :D
If you don't like it just "leave"

I saw a photo of Mt Taranaki on TV1 Weather tonight, taken yesterday. The mountain was still snowless, probably very unusual for this time of year. (but not surprising as New Plymouth got up to 22C) The Alps visible from Chch also still have no white blanket.
Sharp contrast to this time last year, when cold southerlies were lashing the country with heavy snow on the mountains, and hail in many lower places. (today's the 1st anniversary of the big Mt Maunganui/Papamoa hailstorm)

No snow at all around the Canterbury foothills,I climbed to over 1800 metres today in behind Springfield and the only snow I saw was on the main divide in the distance.
May change by next Monday/Tuesday with a SE flow hopefully developing.

Good one Andrew  .
I can just imagine Michaels back yard all clean no leaves to be seen, but you have to ask yourself Mike how well do you know your neighbours? :D .
One evening with a gale SW blowing and two bags full of leaves emptied over the fence= PRICELESS ;-) .

Strong winds up here at the moment - blowing a gale - the aeonium arboreum var. atropurpureum 'Schwarzkof' aka uncle bob has toppled over out on the deck.
