cloudburst in genoa (north italy)

incredible day in genoa today!!
regenerating thunderstorms...till 430 mm (by now) in some areas of the city in 24 hours!! and now it's continuing!!
wind till 100 kms/h...destroyed houses and streets!!

genoa (and now aslo milan) is under those cumulonembus in the north-western part of italy!

Thankyou for your photos; I'm sorry to see so much flooding in a beautiful town; hope nobody was hurt and no serious damage done. Does this sort of event happen often there? Has the weather cleared up now? Best wishes.

in genoa it can happen often...but not like now!! now it's too much!!
furtunately no deads but lot's of damages!!
now the situation is not good!!

Interesting report. Looks like a low level jet has been feeding moist air into a slow moving frontal zone.

but the perturbation has gone to the east!
3 deads in toscana :( they drowned under a bridge

Davide, I'm so sorry to hear that people have died because of this storm. Thankyou for posting the link to the video. The floods look very dangerous. I hope that the situation improves quickly and that damage is able to be repaired. All that water rushing past may have damaged roads and foundations of buildings? Take care.

Wow, closest we've been to that around here was in Matata in May 05. That's awful, I'm glad it happened during the day rather than at night as I suspect their could have been a lot more fatalities. It will be interesting the see the after photographs. Our thoughts are with them.

yes, some roads and foudations have been damaged...now they are repairing them ;)
