FYI, Storm Chasers season 4 started a couple of weeks ago, 2 episodes in so far (+ a 2hr special which basically recaps last season). Not on Discovery channel here for a while, but "it's out there" on the interweb... First 2 eps very dramatic, covered the Yazoo City tornado near the start of the season and Reed & co being first on the scene in Yazoo City, helping pull people out of demolished homes etc.
No sign of Wurman so far this season, hopefully he won't be on there. Sean Casey still his stupid immature self taking the piss out of Reed any chance he gets, still got sour grapes.
awesome! episode 1 brings back very many vivid memories. we were doing the same dangerous night time chasing reed was doing on the same storm.
oh man i miss chasing. last season was so good.

Yea I know not much of him at this point in the season.
Completely agree with your comment on Sean Casey, he reminds me of a 4 year old having a tantrum just because some one made a similar thing to what he made.
Im intrigued to see whats going to happen with the likes of Chris on TVN, him being booted out of Dominator just because Reed wants his gf in the car instead.
Seems like Chris's comment "so I am expendable" seems fairly correct at this stage.....
The whole GF angle to the show is lame, but yeh she is kinda hot. I follow Reeds facebook page and turns out she dumped him @ the end of the season, basically it would appear she was all fake and was just trying to get on the show.

I think the whole needing to get "the shot" thing for Sean Casey is not really true anymore, I think it's now just more about getting some $ from the tv show, didn't he get his shot last season ? I feel that even if he gets his shot that he is after, he'll still be out there ever year because he wouldn't know what to do with himself otherwise.
Yes, interesting to see the moderate risk Foggy. In previous years they have talked about the fall severe weather season on stormtrack but it has been lacking in recent times, I guess this year its a bit more active.
Oh no I checked Reeds facebook page then to find out Seans Meteorologist/Navigator Matt Hughes had died on the 26th of May!
He was only like in his mid to late 20's i think and has 2 sons!
How terrible.......
Yeah happened a while ago, was mentioned in a few places, stormtrack, discovery website etc, though tbh I had totally forgotten also. From what I can piece together he suffered from depression which led to his passing, a real shame, would never have picked it from what I saw on the show, he always was upbeat and living life to the full, I guess there are good days and bad days.
the episode today was about getting Sean into the best tornado intercept chance of his life, I think the episode after this one is concerning Matts passing.

I never would have guessed either.......
Thats put me in rather sad mood now
I really feel for his family.....
I watched the latest edition of the storm chasers this morning, the episode was in memory of Matt Hughes. It was based around May10th in Oklahoma which was interesting as Jamie and I chased the storm that was the focus of the programme. We got close enough to the supercell to see the muiltivortex in the distance but far away enough to call the chase a bust. We should have started that day in western Oklahoma on the dryline to catch the initial development but forecast storm motions of 50m/ph plus was the reason we held back too far east, and that cost us.
65mph storm that's crazy ! Was a good episode and I think they handled Matts passing pretty well - though it was obvious that by mentioning it at the very start of the show and saying that his family wanted to air his last chase, Discovery was clearly building the whole episode around the idea that he died in the chase by intercepting a tornado which I thought was in poor taste, they could have skipped the bit @ the start and mentioned it at the end instead. Still, good episode. Lots of tension in the dominator lol, Reed is just too damn hyperactive and needs to chill out. And I completely agree with Chris - they chase 3 months out of the year, he runs the business, he gets all the film footage to pay the bills, and the only reason Reeds gf is butting in to chase as it makes good TV, bit of a shame.
And what is up with Sean's decision to hire that hot meteorologist to drive Doghouse - purely for ratings? She had zero chase experience and by the looks of it some really poor driving skills - surely the smart thing to do would have been to hire an experienced chaser like Matt & Brandon - guess that would not have made good television
