DST Begins

As you are aware DST started this morning Obviosly it doent bring summer weather but wonder how many farmers are enjoying it

it only takes 4-5 weeks down here and it will be light again at 6am.

As a farmer I have to say its a pain the butt getting the herd to change there internal timeclocks...for some reason they take a bit longer to change than the bedside digital clock!

Better fro BBQ's and evening work tho. My initial frustration passes in a week or so!

I think DST stars too early, should be later in the month and then finish in late April instead in the "middle" of summer in March.
Someone else also mentioned that we should have DST in winter instead of summer giving us that extra hour of light in the evening

That would be just plain silly. The sun would rise @ 9.20am, in Invercargill during midwinter.

In the U.S they have DST from April 1(abouts the same <=> as us) but theirs goes to End of October like End of April for us) Also the weather is heaps better/warmer/settled in April than October for us

I just happened to see the weather on TV One and the weather lady on it said it was 30 years since DST had commenced here in NZ.
It was in the days of a Labour government when things like that eventuated.
