It's funny, actually.. You don't think about how many events you've been to unless you actually recount them... How about this...

1987 Christchurch Airport 50th Anniversary Airshow
1988 Australian Bicentennial Airshow
1992 Auckland Air Expo
1994 Warbirds Over Wanaka
1996 Warbirds Over Wanaka
1997 Oshkosh Air Expo (USA)
1997 Discovery Shuttle Launch (STS-85)
1998 Warbirds Over Wanaka
2000 Ohakea Final Skyhawk Show
2001 Omaka
2003 Omaka
2004 Warbirds Over Wanaka
2005 Australian International Air Show

Highlights for me would be the shuttle launch, seeing the SR-71 and B2 stealth and F-117 at Oshkosh, KIWI RED all the way, they were awesome.. Seeing a Kiwi Red Skyhawk go screaming up New Brighton beach at eye level (I was standing on a sand dune), and the F-111 at night doing the dump and burn on Aussie....

You know.. I'd almost say that I like planes! :D

Weather forecast looks ok... I'm a wee bit concerned about this next front coming through... Whether it hits the Lakes District is another matter.. :-s

I'm not going and I'm from Canterbury but a friend of mine is, in his wheelchair. His name is Wallis but is not related to Sir Tim. He used to be a RAF pilot before developing MS.

I would watch them if they flew over the city rather than having to travel to Wanaka - having a 4 litre car & the price of gas puts me off.

Easter looks like a good time to buy a camera, I notice there's a lot of specials on for them this weekend.
I take it thats a Cannon EOS350D you have, the improved version of my camera the 300D. Have considered upgrading to a 350D so I'm looking forward to seeing your photo's Stormchaser.

Looks like the slow moving High out to the East of NZ will have a big influence on our weather for some time, weakening Fronts as they move on to NZ from the west.

nice photo!

edit, just so no confusion, thats a picture of a Hurricane, and not spitfire, correct o mundo?

Awesome image! Any Mustangs at the show this year? I love P-51s! The only thing better is the F4U Corsair.

Sir Tim was on TV tonight and he seemed to be pleased with the events over the WE. It would of been good weather for the event as well.
Saw the F-111 the other day, scared the shyte out of me as it passed over head at west Melton. Apparently it took only 18 minutes to fly down there from Christchurch. and 18 minutes back again. :D

Well iam back from the show after a very good performance some nice boms and bangs my favourite being the F1 noisy as ever but also very fast and of course I njoyed the sound engine of the Policarpov's and the Spitfire :P .
Hey John are you sure you wernt at the Show? I heard your name over the speaker  no bull they said John Gaul please return to his family haha.
Some choas on the way down at about 11am the traffic haulted about 15 mins before Rakia and we got out and chilled on the side of the road with hundreds of others for 30 mins. It turns out there were 3 seperate crashes with 8 cars and one milk truck involved which is another reason I came bak today and not tomorrow when every man and his dog will be on the road.
Here's a few pics from the show and trip down there the rest I will put up on imae shack for everyone to view tomorrow.
Cheers
Jason.
