Impending Westerly Flow

Heavy thundery showers with hail over the Waitakeris(far west Auckland) today but the rest of the city was overcast high cloud with odd showers, cold 13C.

Should be good snow fall here later this week to low levels .

ECMRF suggests a cold outbreak later in the week for NZ. Could be good for snow over the central North Island as well as the Otago Ski Fields.

Coming back to Ak from down south tonight saw a large cb from the waikato appeared to be overhead at the bombay hills area and saw some out to the west during the day.Was drizzelly most of the day with light W

SW Gales came through here at 3:50am this morning waking me up.
I thought there may of been a flash (as forecasted by Metservice) with some hail but there wasn't so I turned over and went back off to sleep.

Mostly cloudy here today.
Snow fell to around 600m on the ranges south of Alex early this morning, I recorded no rain here, but it was windy around 2-3am
