I see, well I saw what looked like a weather balloon pass over Geraldine this afternoon, moving from the SW to the NE.

I see that King Charles offered our PM, "Baby Face" Hipkins some sausage rolls. Good choice.
I know the place in Upper Hutt where "BF' Hipkins gets his pies from. Good pies and sausage rolls.

Re: I See
I see the MS recorded 0.2mm of rain today at their AWS station when the weather there today was a blue dome day with no cloud whatsoever? Don't trust the rainfall recorded at that station, sorry
There have been times driving to Timaru when it is raining around Washdyke and out to the west and yet nothing is recorded at the airport.

Re: I See
Should be an interesting total there today with dew/frost melt and moisture from the fog that moved in from early afternoon.
Should be the heaviest fall recorded today from fine anticyclonic weather conditions that are plaguing the South Island at the moment
I used to record dew/frost melt as precipitation amounts but as these features are not really rainfall accounts, I stopped recording them in my rainfall figures. I think Bob Crowder was the same at his Spreydon site.
...by the way Bob has sold his site in Ashgrove Terrace and now lives up the hill off Dyers Pass Road in a flash retirement apartment up there. I went and saw him the other day. His weather records would be very interesting for those who want to go over them.

Re: I See
I see that there are 4 billionaires trapped in an underwater submarine thing around the wreck of the Titanic.
They are experiencing trouble down there and running out of oxygen.
Why not send in Jeff Tracy and his sons down there with Gordon Tracy in Thunderbird 4 to rescue them?
"As Thunderbirds Are Go", they would rescue them!

Re: I See
I see they are calling it Global Boiling instead of Global Warming.
Interesting to see how warm it will get here in NZ this coming summer under El Nino conditions with anticyclones bringing warm air from the Australian desert across the Tasman Sea.
Also I see that southerly changes may be not severe because of warmer sea temperatures so thunderstorms maybe less severe as far as hail goes which maybe good for growers.

Re: I See
I see that they are talking about replacing it with a double lane bridge, but whenever that will happen, who knows. A second bridge over the Ashburton river is more important, also widening the Rakaia River bridge to allow cyclists to safely cycle across it.Orion wrote: Thu 24/08/2023 20:25 Visited Temuka and Geraldine today.
I see that the single-lane bridge over the Orari River on SH72/SH79 looks quite dilapidated, most of the kerbing beside the roadway is damaged![]()
More important than a tunnel under Auckland Harbour to link North Shore to the city

I see that someone broke the Ranfurly Shield.
Might have to send it to the Repair Shop on TV to get it fixt.?
Apparently the white substance was plaster of paris, not cocaine as what the silly media thought as first.

I see that MetService is getting blasted for not accurately forecasting the Auckland Anniversary Floods. I thought they did but other people think otherwise and blame them for using outdated models systems?

I see that flying back from Auckland recently, the flight attendant mentioned that the bathrooms were located at the rear of the airplane.
Strange place to have a bath. It would be rather swishy. Do they supply towels as well?
