Lovely in the "hinterland"

Unread post by RWood »

After a weekend wedding my daughters and husbands set off on a short SI trip. Conditions as I expected - rain from Sounds to Hanmer on Tuesday, cloudy Wednesday on Plains, giving way to brilliant sunshine once past Burke's Pass. Magic day today at Tekapo and Mt Cook Nat Park. May be more complicated tomorrow however.

Filthy rain/drizzle/mist here for a couple of days or so, but we have been way overdue for some wet cloudy weather after all.

Cloudy most of the day in Chch, but only 1 brief shower about 2pm. I see the Chch radar (welcome back radar :) ) showing showers elewhere in Canterbury at 3 and 6pm. The flow looks more south/southeast than southwest over us, so that showers, even if they're few and far between, tend to spread inland rather just brush the coast. Could even be a light dusting of white on the Alps/foothills, as its rather chilly.
