Tornados in Northern Germany
Last night, March 27, 2006, at least 3 tornados hit Northern Germany. The strongest one whipped across Hamburg, Germany where 2 people were killed when the tornado destroyed the cranes they were operating. Trees were uproted or snapped, power lines were cut and cars were overturned. Tornados were also reported from Bremerhaven, Germany and from Lower Saxony. I just wonder when tornados already come so early this year what will happen during summer!

Found this about F3 and F4 tornadoes in Germany http://wetterchronik.de/english/tornadogeruecht.htm
Interesting to see that the media there also call them "mini" so it's not just a problem here

I remember seeing a thread somewhere on these recent German tornadoes. Might have been Stormtrack. Germany seems to get a lot of severe storms which is maybe suprising considering there is a mountain range between them and the moisture source, the Mediterranean. The Munich region in particular gets voilent storms every summer.
