I received the following email from Annette Hilton from the NZ Broadcasting School here in ChCh who wants to make a news story about weather watching/storm chasing here in Canterbury.
Would any other Canterbury members like 03 Stormchaser,Steve Graham,Jason, Aaron,Tony T etc like to contribute to the programme?

Hi My name is Annette Hilton and I'm a journalism student at the New Zealand Broadcasting in Christchurch.
I am wanting to get hold of John Gaul and Bob Crowder for a television news story for Canterbury Television.
I would like to do this story on Christchurch weather watchers and the New Zealand Thunderstorm Society.
Any help with this would be very much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.

Ive just had a fuuny thought.
They could film us sitting at Steven Graham's house, in our socks,
watching a blank TV screen for about 24 minutes then a lightning flash as we are watching some recorded footage of recent weatner.
Well iam in on it John I emailed CTV,Prime, and Campbell Live about doin a simular documentry but only prime answered me in sayin they were too busy.
Cheers
Jason.
If me and 03 do something you have to be in it to John!! So that leaves you with one choice John. You give them a call and say we would like to do something then I'll go in it with you.

Wasn't there a TV camera guy posting regularly here at one point?

The CTV people came around and interviewed me the other day and Bob Crowder the day after.
It will probably be broadcasted next week at a date I will let Canterbury people know.
Some of the questions in the interview were interesting with regard on what my views are on weather ....welll !

Will you post a transcript of it for the people outside of Canterbury John?
I have now given up on TV stations. I leant CTV some footage to do with John's (the "NZTS") story but nothing has ever come of it (The story and my footage, thunderstorms just aren't important ) and tonight was the last show of this thing produced by the folk at the broadcasting school here in Chch. Second time I have been dissapointed so no more! Unless they pay up front.
I've also sent what I would've thought were good lightning pics to TV One but to no avail. Then the next night they show some boring picture of a cloud (the "windy" picture from the MetSoc photography competition comes to mind as to the type of picture they would show with the clothes blowing on the clothes-line). No more.........
