I didn't even know it was on!

So are there any Brits (of the 'born there' kind) in the England team this year, or will they be the usual bunch of foreign ringers with tongue-twister names? ;)

Oh, okay. I only ever see soccer on the sportsnews sometimes and the players are always named 'Hassan' or 'Prieux' or something like that. Even the managers and coaches don't seem to be Brit. But then I don't know anything about it sorry! :D

Just collected my wife and baby daughter from Christchurch airport and she tells me that the WC is big news in Japan right now...they aren't happy with the Aussies though, since the Japanese had not been exposed to Ocker sporting arrogance previously...so there'll be some major league ninja stuff happening if the Aussies beat Japan. Off with their heads, I say! :D

Its great really, because usually the ozzies are so dominant at sport but at soccer they are the underdogs, so they have my backing!!! :D

But...but...I thought Australians were really Americans? And Americans don't watch soccer. Haven't Aussies spent the past 50 years desperately trying to reinvent themselves as the United States of Australia?

;) :P

The good news is that when Australia gets knocked out, you can all go back to claiming that "We're only interested in Aussies Rules anyway mate!"...as you always do when you are defeated at any other sport. In fact, didn't you actually invent Aussie Rules just so that you'd always be the World Champions at something?

:P  :P  :P
