Heh! Which Cortina had the plastic fuel hose? Those cars used to burn like anything!
I can't remember which one, it could have been all of them! The really ironic thing is when the recall was announced in 1992 / 1993 I was working in a warehouse in MT Eden, and heard the recall mentioned on the radio as part of the news. A few minutes later I was standing in the dockway of the warehouse when a Cortina drove past with the paint blistering off the bonnet, it pulled up about 50 meters down the road and burst in flame proper. I kid you not, this was maybe within 5-10 minutes after hearing it on the news.

Hahaha, yeah, I saw a ton of them go. Almost impossible to put out, no matter how quickly you got there.
