Yeh should be a good storm season but i am not going to jinx it
.
It's all about the testings of mother nature John
I mean If i know there is going to be large hail on a thunderstorm potential day I will cover my plants.
Then you can enjoy storms of severity without too much worry
.
Cheers
Jason.

Our season would likly be about as long as yours it's our most concentrated time of storms is from November-Late January other times they are occasional but often very good.
Infact most of the best storms have happend outside the storm season.
* This year in March seen a Tornado touch down near Waimate
* On Labour Weekend 2002 which is in October we had an unstable day with hailstorms and a tornado in Tai tapu.
These classic storms only form when we get cold blasts which can be loaded with hail etc so often sometimes outside of storm season can be more interesting.
I do enjoy our weather here not to mention the scenery
.
Cheers

Yes! agree with that very much jasestrm. Storms that we most likely get here with tornadoes are often called mesoyclones, which we can get here. As most people would know.
And Canty is well known to get the odd biggie. So i have to say as jasestrm said i like our weather and wouldnt wanna live anywhere else.
