Havelock Pelorious sound!!!!

Unread post by Storm Struck »

I am now back from a nice weeks holiday stayed in Havelock a nice wee town :D .
Went out fishing most days although with fishing season being very poor around the sounds this year it took us until Thursday until we actually caught fish. Although they were not Snapper of which we were fishing for.
The weather was warm to cool most days and had sunny intervals with cloud especially in the afternoons with heat showers spilling from the ranges. Thursday was the best day and to go with the fish 8) .
Went through to Nelson and Kaiteriteri on Friday still quite packed at kaiteri I would like to call it south islands own Gold Coast ;) .
And to sum the trip up some nice pics.
Exuse my wining post i did last weknd  .
Cheers
Jason.

Nice sized mullet there Jase!

Me and some friends went snapper fishing off a Jettie in the sounds (secret spot! lol) and we had some good snapper runs. First guy lost his, second guy it snagged him in some rocks and broke off. I had one on for a little bit, got it in close and it snagged on something literally 3 metres from me. Never saw it. Another guy had something big on, it eventually come in after 15 minutes and ended up being a stingray. We had some great fun but a fairly un-successful trip as we didn't get any snapper in! Would really like to go up there sometime again soon. It is a great spot indeed Jase.

Cheers

Also to add this wee clip i did while moving through Pelorious sound.
The two smaller islands you see in the distance are right out in the open ocean i must find out what they are called because one of them is a conservation island with Tuatara on it.
