Many centres in NSW had record high temps for May despite a cold spell at the end of the month.
QLD saw record warmth as well with records broken at Brisbane, Townsville and Rockhampton.
Canberra had its warmest May since 1939 with min temps finally dipping to frost levels in the last few mornings.
The warm trend contuines a feature of the weather in recent years worldwide - warmer autumns and cooler springs.
For Sydney February and April 2007 temps were below average whilst March was the 7th warmest on record with January being "average".
