Another cape'y day

Unread post by Vertigo »

Billowing convection firing up this morning care of the decent amount of cape today...

Unfortunately, no cap to speak of, so unless we get an ungodly amount of daytime heating, it probably wont amount to more than a few showers.

Yes, stronger towering Cu this afternoon and some heavy looking showers around now (probably sea breeze convergence)

Amended discussion: A sea breeze convergence line has formed from Northland through Auckland and down into northern Waikato. Radar imagery shows several slow moving heavy showers along this line. There is a low risk that one or two of these showers may develop into a thunderstorm this afternoon from continued daytime heating and low level convergence. Due to the slow moving nature of this line, rainfall rates of 10-20mm/hr are possible.
