One thing they did mention which is actually needed was the need for 'cities within cities' like 3 news has.

I did notice that 'glitch' calling Hamilton 'Christchurch' tonight
...and there wasn't much mention of the Auckland/Hamilton overnight thunderstorms as well especially with those aoroplanes being hit, also metion of the huge number of lightning strikes recorded??

The weather slot is far too short for a proper report anyway. Given that, he (Jim) doesn't do badly. If the report has to stay short, a neutral presenattion like the one Brendan did is probaably best. TV is far too busy spouting junk to spend too long on the weather.

Watch Dr Who instead If they show some of the earlier ones with the daleks.
Has 3 improved their weather,Dont watch their news but sometimes watch "the snake" John Campell.(the way he hisses his letters s ie in Aucklands,Sheeps)

I really like Jim to be honest. Remember, he's presenting this to an average person, not professional meteorologists, and people don't want to see a boring report.

I like his report in a traditional Kiwi way. I use his sayings like "Gone-burgers" and "Antarctic Rodents".
Brendon on the other hand was good too, after a very rusty start, and I was sad that TVNZ ditched him. Him and Jim would of been good together.
