We wake up to a new Goverment this morning. I assume the result can't be changed by the special votes.
I have to say I am delighted with the result, good to have an outcome on the night considering its MMP. :-)

Ever watched Parliment TV on Freeview.... It'll put you to sleep 99% of the time. The other 1% you'll be so frustrated you won't be able to sleep for hours... That is if they are sitting, most of the time there is nothing happening.

not really happy with the result, myself, but what can you do. good to see greens getting more popular, but doesnt mean much in the face of a national win.

Driving back from Katikati this evening I followed a car with an old "Winston is our MP" sticker on the rear window.

Underneath it was a white paper bag, stuck on with sellotape, it had written in blue vivid "Not anymore". When we stopped at the Bethlehem roundabout I read the small writing in ballpoint "Thank God" then "Not since 2005 the assh*le" in a different colour.

He lost a lot of points with the public here.

He abandoned us previously for an Auckland electorate, he came back begging almost this time.

First big mistake, all his little signs around the place. Two tick boxes, NZ First and Winstone Peters. Written underneath them was "Our MP". Our MP was of course Bob (the Builder) Clarkson, not Winstone, that didn't sit well and I wondered how he could be allowed to do that.

Then in the last few days he sent every registered voter a letter addressed to his competition c/- the voter(complete with a personalised website page), not good.

Labour were very much a centre party, they just got some stupid ideas from the Green party(which they had to support or be out of office) which stuffed them up.At this stage National seems centre which would be good but of course time will tell if they adopt ruthanasia/rogernomics.
