Certainly a summery day in Chch - high 20s maximum, weather we haven't seen since early January. (I mean warm days without strong winds) After a short chilly blast on Thursday, it seems like settled weather will return for quite some time. Great for parts of NZ that have to clean up after the February storms. Plus the February rains down here, while nothing like some other areas, means that this settled spell won't be viewed as a continuing ordeal of drought.

Looks like NZ will be a magnet for High's this month though Michael. All highs will be moving east onto us and hang around for a while. March is typically the most boring month of the year for weather. The country that is like a magnet,All highs move north, all lows south of us move north, lows in the tropics move south and fronts move across then afterwards move backwards

Watching wind rain(ordinary wet windy wintry weather---not thunder or lightening etc) can be boring Stuck inside for ages waiting for it to clear
- seen it for many years now
Nothing worse than in a Sh/'y year seeing day after day of gales and grey racing clouds and continual rain.
1988 was a good example it rained nonstop from June to Xmas
When its settled you can enjoy being outside,The radio gets better dx reception, can do astronomy it goes on
