Plenty of those where i am heading for new years .
Should be just a few showers about the east coast tomorrow nothing thundery, but Boxing Day could see development around the foothills and spreading eastwards.

Max temps from the Airports yesterday, Auckland 20C, Wellington 18C and Christchruch 15C so a cool Christmas day for NZ.

Actually 20.9°C for Akld Aero and 16.0°C for Chch Aero. But yes, some very cool temps in the SE of the South Island yesterday, with T-maxs in Asburton, Timaru, Oamaru and Gore only around 12-13°C.

A little sunnier and warmer here than mainland Akld yesterday by the looks - got to 22.9°C at about 4pm, but a rather chilly start this morn with 11.2°C at about 7am.

why does Hamilton always get left out???? It is a city center.

Sth Waikato - Christmas Day - Cloudy at first and sunny by late afternoon, 21.0ºC max, Boxing Day - Mainly fine all day, winds north, to west and north again, max temp was 23.9ºC, a lovely day!
