Re: December summary
So where is Tauranga on the main centres summary? If Dunedin is included then on a population basis Tauranga must be included. Simple.

Re: December summary
Probably due to location wise - Hamilton was only just added on since it's quite close to Auckland.igaquo1 wrote:So where is Tauranga on the main centres summary? If Dunedin is included then on a population basis Tauranga must be included. Simple.

Re: December summary
Well Tauranga is the 5th largest City in NZ, we are larger than Dunedin these days. I guess Dunedin will continue though due to it's geographical location.

Re: December summary
Must be from: http://www.stats.govt.nz/NR/rdonlyres/A ... sprov1.xls in table 3.
So it includes satellites such as Te Awamutu & Cambridge. (possibly Morrinsville & Huntly?)

Re: December summary
I wouldn't have thought the Cambridge and Te Awamutu would be in the ordinary person's definition of Hamilton. And the figure for Napier is actually Napier and Hastings, which leaves Tauranga in 5th place
I wrote to NIWA and they were amenable to the idea of including Tauranga on the proviso that all the data was available in time for the report. So would look into it. so sounds promising!
