Again a warm summer like day much appreciated after the cooler December and January, 27C the maximum today.
Managed to get a fright today from the first of 4 F18 hornets fly straight over head at a reasonably low pass, it certainly made my day once i seen them
The cats love it so does the lawnmower as well, but the garden doesnt. When it does rain,(and probably with vengence when it does) especially if heavy could be lots of problems with runoff, leaves etc for some areas.
Managed to get what should be the last swim in the Hurunui River today, the river is still too high for all the rain in the high country for a temp high of 28c to make it pleasant swimming but still to be in the river at this time of year is amazing.

I take it you meant not getting into the 20's rather than double figures Anyways Im over in Westport until Easter Monday and the weather here today has been cloudy but muggy and around 18-19 degrees, very still however. Looks like Northland are almost sure to get some rain now which is great news for them and maybe some quite considerable stuff! The Tasman, Pacific and Tropics are all looking very busy all of a sudden with a number of different systems. Looking very messy so perhaps some dramatic events in the not to distant future!! Boy do we need it as it has been a very boring 2010 weather wise! It was very noticable on the drive over today the endless brown grass throughout the Canterbury plains and then into the Buller District not a spec of grass was brown! The complete opposite. I was hoping for some nice Heavy rain over here on the Coast but im too far north for any of it unfortunately as this system is more Fiorland and Southern Westland. May get a period of good rain Tomorrow night through Sunday morning as the system works its way north but nothing too drastic I wouldnt imagine.

After i had posted this i saw on TV1 that it was 3C warmer here than any of the main centers,i would have thought at the time that Culverden may have been close to being as warm but obviously not,i believe this is due to the fact that it was a light NW wind here and in Culverden it wasn't, which so often it doesn't get to the same extent as this end of the plains.
I don't have access to any of the data but can someone tell me what was the temp and wind direction there yesterday please
Another gorgeous day dawned here in the Buller. Blue skies and no wind, 17 degrees already. Maybe looking for some rain this arvo/evening. Enjoy your stay Leighton.

They reached 25.7C between 4PM and 5PM, with a 5 knot northwest.
Partly Cloudy weather here, waiting for the rain....., LOL
Happy Birthday Philip, hope you have a great day today!!!
Hopefully you will get something about the weather for your present.
I see the small rain band heading up the coast now the southerly will probably get here in the next hour with the rain developing overnight and into the morning.
Quite pleasent out though at the moment anyway with a light NW has been all afternoon.
Not much rain for Christchurch, infact hardly a drop as i look out this morning, wheres it all gone?
Almost just weakend as its come up overnight going by the rain radar
Cold here at lake benmore today after some heavy rain over night, only got to 13C but was 10C at 12pm.
Windy but warm out of it at warbirds on saturday but i have to say it was not as good as i have seen in the past with the jet fighters not really doing much.
Hot here on friday with a high of 28C so much time spent in the lake.
Buggered if I know. ??
I tried to move a posting from Lemine from the April General weather section to the Weather Abroad section, where it should belong and it ended up the whole topic moved across and the associated item was deleted????
Nev or Foggy, could you remedy the situation.
