Third frost of 2012 this morning,gauge is showing -0.5,only just got in from wetting down all the frost tender plants in the garden

Frozen dew on the car here now, white rime becoming visible on grass.
Air temp. +2.6 degrees.

Not quite a frost here this morning, so I will not write it up on this topic, but it was the coolest morning so far this year. See my weather blog to see what it got down to.

1 degree here this morning with ice on the car. Would have been colder but some patchy fog came in around 3am this morning.

Got up at midnight to see if any southern lights could be seen,couldnt see much of that but plenty of sparkles in the moon light on top of the cars,7.00am and its -2.5,fifth frost this year so far ..........just unbelievable

First noticable frost of the year this morning. Ice on the truck window and slight frosting on the deck.

Ice on the car again this morning gauge showing +0.5,though the Tessa sensor says 1.8,i never take readings from that sensor these days because i dont think they are even close to accurate.

The regular Frosty season usually starts about ANZAC day but yes some very cold temps Canterbury/Otago this morning, Qtwn currently 1C, Oamaru 2C , Christchurch 4C.

Certainly been a lot more frosts so far this year than other years,i knew there was going to be a frost yesterday after seeing snow on the tops of the highest mountains seen from here.

Yes, an early frost season this year, looks like more frost for parts of the South Island this morning.

Nothing yet here in ChCh this year. Cloudy mornings rather than clear inland will be the reason for that

Been a frost more out Lincoln way a few weeks ago,friend who lives couple of kms south of the town had a paddock of pumpkins munted

Got down to -2 over night,starting to get heavier now

0c here overnight. Have been getting a lot of fog lately which has been saving us from the harder frosts.

I thought the fog was going to form last night here as it was really misty at 9.00pm but then cleared,interesting that this morning like it does on many occasions is a fog formed half hour before sunrise and is gone about after,don't know why it does that,if it happened after the sun came up,then you would know its got something to do with the first warmth of the sun,but??

-0.5 here this morning. Normally by now we would be getting harder frosts.

I reckon they are about normal for here but the only thing is there's been a lot more of them at date then usual,still cloudy here this morning so no frost.
