Well how about:
Like the rest of the country we had a dry April. Not as dry as Hamilton though they had only 30mm (1.2in) for the month. The majority of our rain was from the east in large thunderstorms. 25mm (1in) on the 6th and 32mm (1.3in) on day 20.
Wind wise very little, the maximum gust was only 17kts (32kmh), and the average over the month a tiny 2.3 knots or 6 kmh.

A slightly cooler, much drier and low windspeed month. Max gust of only 27 knots is very low.We will probably pay for it in the next few months!. Some heavy rain recorded over easter (which was on the coastal side)

April and future rain
Do we have anyone around the Southern Lakes area, who can give us a leader on the inflows to the lakes?

Weather figures and lake inflows
Figures from Invercargill .I had 57.8 mm .Second dry month below normal rain figures. Todays front only gave me 5mm.
Lake inflows at Queenstown dropping but kicked up at 4pm with first inflows from Dart River and Shotover. 32mm rain at Dart River by 5pm ,14mm at Shotover . Lakes Wanaka and Hawea have steadied as well, Info can be gathered from Otago Regional Council Website for your info.
