Almost something you could expect lightning to come out of, but 500mb level looks like there is a fair amount of warming so might be some lower down instability? Would love some lightning though!

Pretty strange, can see the shower on the radar. Only partly cloudy in St Albans.

An isolated convergence maybe? could be southerly south of Templeton and NE over the city.
It still doesnt explain why something would develope so quickly and that intense without day time heating etc.

Great to be back up and running again,i was wondering what the hell was going on.

While the forum was offline I checked out other sites over the weekend. Are there only a handful of the same contributors on here? Just seems to lack any variety or new people whereas years ago there was always something new.Just wonder if it could get a facelift or be more welcoming for newbies? Cheers

Yer it would be good if we had more members from other areas like the West Coast,east coast of the NI,Northland etc,but still....she would be a bit boring if we didnt have the weather to talk about hey.

It was fairly warm yesterday: 22.6°C here and 22.8°C @ Hamilton AP. A little cooler at Horsham Downs with a high of 21.2°C.
