Severe T-Storms - Perth

Unread post by gllitz »

Good afternoon, All!
It has been a while since I have posted here (as I have moved to Perth) but there is something VERY interesting going on in Perth today weather-wise. It all started full-on last night - WOW! is all I have to say!!

We have some pretty amazing LI and CAPE values for the day (numbers I have never seen, anyway....)

Here is the link to the forum I am on and it IS a long thread, but there is some pretty amazing stuff going on and some of the members there take some AMAZING shots!!:

Hope all is well with everyone!!
(bummer about that tornado (gustnado??) a week or so ago...not nice! :( :( )

Cheers,
Glenn

Thanks for that link: they're all happy, aren't they! :D
Will email my cousin in Hillarys and see how they're getting on.

Hillarys is practically next door to where we live! We are in Ocean Reef.
We have been lucky so far (touch wood!) but I think that may change later on this arvo/tonight...we'll see!
VERY impressive storm - have a look at the radar loops - I think Oscilmet is where to find them?
The BoM only keep the latest 30 min worth of loops...

Extraordinary system indeed, I'm seeing it approach the coast and then expand and begin orbiting a point south of Perth - Dwellingup? - on the Oscilmet site, also the PerthNow weather radar.
Thanks for the link to the waweathergroup.
