Beijing Air-Pollution Reaches Record

Unread post by Willoughby »

PM2.5 particles were above 700mcg/m3 on Saturday according to government Chinese data. The WHO 'safety level' is 25mcg/m3!! The roof of the U.S. Embassy recorded a peak of 886 micrograms, they labelled it 'beyond index'.

Massive low level inversion on yesterday morning's ZBAA sounding (6AM local time).

Lots of it would be,probably, from the smoke from NZ coal that Solid Energy exports to China, via Lyttelton.
