Hi guys. I'm looking for a way to have data from my station in two houses. My house has the computer. The other house will just need a visual display of some kind. I see two options for doing this.
1 - buy another vantage pro 2 consol either new @ $452 or 2nd hand @ $370.
2 - buy a Davis envoy data logger @ $300 and use that on the computer loading data to the Internet and put the current consol in the other house.
Does any one know of another cheaper option for me?
Which Davis console?

Re: Which Davis consol?
This is another option if your parents are happy with viewing data via computer get a PTP wifi link between the two homes (for around $300).
This is what I have for my weather station so i can see the raw weather data without buying another console and get a long range wifi repeater which would cost around $600, even swapping a console for envoy it would still cost in total around $500.
These wifi PTP links are long range (can span 15km+) and you can share more than just weather data via this PTP link, files, TCP/IP connections etc.
Add VirtualVP (http://www.softwx.com/weather/virtualvp.html) to split your datalogger multiple ways via IP and serial.
Install WD on your parents PC and walla they have raw data flowing in for them to see and analyse.
The PTP link that I have and where I bought from can be located here.
You need to have 2 units like this in order to make a full PTP link and you will need to some outdoor gel filled CAT cable (which can also be purchased at gowifi).
Let me know if you want to go down this path (which i'd recommend), I can help you install it if you wish
