first the forecast dimissed it, saying it would pass well to the north,....even though the models had been forecasting for days that it would come close....
and now the latest forecast has it coming close enough to bring some scattered rain .....(the rain is still a long way away at this stage, i dont know how they think its going to get here by tonight)
what are they going at kelburn!!!
LOL
i mean there are 2 distinct low's....
and the NI is in between the 2 of them at the moment.....the eastern low is going to miss us...the western low,,,well, its moving east at the moment, but I guess they are thinking it will turn more SE soon...
this north tasman low as them guessing!

yeah I was thinking that to,
in the early stages of the week that trough was hanging around tasmania and it looked set to hit the western side of the NI i thought. I was surprised to see that metservice had predicted that it would go over the top of the NI and then down on to the eastern side.
But i geuss we shall all see

Plus there's a cold front that's supposed to move up the east coast tomorrow - Canterbury's forecast is now for showers tomorrow (after today's cloudless day) - I hope we don't get much shower activity, as I want to do my washing tomorrow and have it dry outside.in the early stages of the week that trough was hanging around tasmania and it looked set to hit the western side of the NI i thought. Looks like the low pressure system will work out to be neither a major storm with heavy rain, nor a complete fizzer. Now only occasional showers are forecast for the east of the North Island, but the flow is predicted to be much colder. Snow flurries forecast to 500 metres in the central and eastern North Island means there must be some pretty chilly air coming up from the south. No sign of any of the coastal showers forecast for Canterbury - just some scattered high cloud so far. (might prevent a frost tonight)
