My station also recorded the highest maximum average for November since it began recording. 22.0*C was the average, beating 2010's 21.5*C.

Only finished at 1.1C above normal but that was due to the clear cool nights we were having.

Finished on 80mm too which is actually above the 65mm average this station has for November. For some reason since 2005, Novembers have been quite dry months and have the lowest average for any month on this station.

Here's NIWA's preliminary 'November 2013 National Climate Summary'.

The national average temp was 15.1C, or 1.4C above normal.
Clyde recorded the month's highest temp of 30.3C.

16 new record average mean-temps and 21 new record average max-temps were set this November, including Ruakura's 4th consecutive month of record average max-temps.

P.S. Of the main centres, Tauranga Aero recorded its highest ever Nov mean-temp and Auckland, Mangere its 2nd highest… no mention of Wellington, Kelburn's 2nd-equal highest though?
It was also Dunedin, Musselburgh's driest Nov on record.
