Re: Egypt/Isrel Snow
Oh no, you must be incorrect. It couldn't possibly have snowed in such a warm climate before. Therefore it must be due to climate change from global warming

Re: Egypt/Israel Snow
That claim by the media that snow fell on the outskirts of Cairo in Egypt and was 'the first in 112 years' appears to be incorrect, i.e. no snow or sleet fell in the suburbs of Cairo last week, just hail, according to Wunderground's weather-historian, Christopher C. Burt. The claim that snow in Jerusalem was the 'worst in decades' also appears to be an exaggeration. However, it was unusually early in the winter to see such cold and snowfall to low levels in Egypt (Sinai), Israel, and Jordan.
Also note that the same storm system (dubbed 'Alexa') brought record high December temps in northern Scandinavia.

Re: Egypt/Israel Snow
There also doesn't appear to be any record of it having snowed in Cairo around 112 years ago. That claim by the media appears to have originated from a tweet by one local man, who later acknowledged he was just guesstimating.
