What's the Bet

What's the bet that Hanmer Springs will record tomorrow's national high?
Any other takers?

Nope NW will moderate things a little there. Blenheim will be my bet.

Blenheim possibly 32C with Christchurch 31C because of cloud cover but clear skies and warm air, Hanmer around 36C and Culverden at 34C. Waipara could be a strong contender?
..but then, I hope I am wrong 8-o
Riccarton could get to 38C

I back melja as the NWser is moderated for places like here and Hanmer Springs, its when there's anticyclones that these areas fry.
Also need to remember that both Hanmer Springs and Culverden dont have accurate recording stations either

NW heat is plastic heat, its not that bad. Its the inland heat on a still day that cooks the best.

Yeah!. they say Kawerau on the telly but it doesn't show up on their graphics, whatsover.
Maybe it's a station like the Riccarton one that NIWAR have? [-X

What's the highest prediction from Metservice tomorrow? Mosgiel is going for 33, Culverden for 31 tomorrow.

Edit: Blenheim forecast for 35 degrees.
