Book
In the library of the Cromwell polytech I came across a book which speculated on the effects of global warming on New Zealand and it mentioned one possible effect being the westerlies dropping way south of us during the summer. Like I said it is just speculation.

Re: Book
A warming atmosphere in theory should push the jet stream poleward and the subtropical high would have greater influence on NZ summers. But we certainly have the complete opposite of that at the moment.
My thoughts on climate change are expect the unexpected. No one knows for sure what is going to happen.
