There has been catastrophic flooding in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands in the last few days - this BBC report suggests a death toll of near 100 with many people still missing. The flooding occurred mainly overnight Weds/Thurs (14th/15th July 2021).

The same low that caused the flooding in London on Monday 12th July appears to have been responsible for the heavy rain.

I wondered about that. The same low that caused the flooding in London on Monday 12th July appears to have been responsible for the heavy rain.
It would be interesting to trace its genesis, development, and course including into the future if it hasn't fizzled out.

Indeed, Orion, it will be interesting to see the synoptics. Looking at the radar, a large area of heavy rain seems to have to have sat over the same place for half a day at least, hence the rainfall totals we have seen in the region of 150-250mm. The wind would have been from the N or NE and this would give a different pattern of orographic enhancement to the more normal S or SW winds of this area.
The death toll has risen to at least 160 and this must be one of the worst flooding episodes in Europe in the last century.
