Yeah, another frosty morning with a red sunrise and clouding over later on . Minus 1.3C .

-1.3C on Sunday morning here, if nothing further happens this year the -1.8C in June will the mildest annual extreme min have recorded since started station in 2016. Have sensitive plants undamaged that have never got through a winter unscathed before.

Not exactly a scientifically accurate measurement, but this is what my car thermometer read at the intersection of SH46 and SH47 (Tongariro) on Sunday morning just before sunrise. Frost in the treetops!

+0.1°C here at the moment and the lawn looks white with a light frost.

A bit of frosting on the ground overnight and this morning before it clouded over. Down to zero.

+0.2 here, no frost seen on the grass pre-sunrise, but swirling ice patterns on the car roof

Got down to minus 2.5C this morning with frosty conditions going off with middle range cloud layer moving in from the SW.

Chch Aero apparently got down to -4.7C this morning, which would make it its 2nd lowest Sep temp since records began in 1953. Only Sep 2020 was colder with -4.8C.

With the cold air traveling up NZ we got down to 3.7° C and 1.1°C Dew Point overnight. Didn't notice a frost so to speak, but boy oh boy my work van had a significant layer of Ice on all the glass this morning.

Light frosting this morning, down to minus 0.7C around 5am this morning.

Quite a moderate frost here this morning with very low dew point and higher humidity .Down to a bone chilling -2.9°C.
