Clearly where the westerly wind is not blowing this morning has a frost. Been quite a windy night here

I think a non-mountainous site is described as being below 500 metres asl.
MetService's Tara Hills, Omarama site (488m) down to at least -11.0C this morning, while its Mt Cook site (656m) down to at least -9.5C.

Shame about the high cloud. It’s taking a lot longer to warm up this morning. Still -3
