New Severe-Concection Outlook

In response to MetService's new Severe-Convection Outlook, starting November 1stI am going to put one out too, but only on this forum.
This will be from October the 1st to March 31st which is the NZTS thunderstorm season for Canterbury.
I will put an alert on the forum if anything is likely to happen and use a scale of 1 to 5.
It won't be daily but if any indication of anything likely I will put a posting up.
Today, for example, would of been 1 out of 5 but judging the NE came up from an oncoming anticyclone/rige it was soon flagged away.
In no way I expect people to respect this outlook as gospel and will not be responsible for any damage/etc whatsoever by my indication.
All my indications will be based from my experiences of thunderstorm potential observation here over the past 40 years. :)

Excellent John.

I look forward to following it. I think you would do a better job than the Met Service regarding forecasting storms in Canterbury. :D

Same here John, I look foward to it! Maybe in future we can have a convective outlook appearing on the NZTS website in future from you in the form of a few lines of writing or something like that. Updates would only need to happen when something looks likely maybe? I'd show you how to upload the info, it's really easy!

Where is the metservice convective outlook going to appear? The PRESS or the web, or both?

That sounds like a good idea, Aaron :)

I presume that MetService wil put the Outlook with their other severe weather warnings.

Now fixed.

You hadn't put anything inside the "color" tags so there was no text to show the colour :)

I think this is almost alittle too high alertness. I think the sun just wont be able to poke is head out enough to give us the extra warmth we need for a storm, other than that it looks all right
